PTFE tape (polytetrafluoroethylene), often called plumber's tape or Teflon tape, is a non-stick, chemical-resistant film used to seal threaded pipe joints. Applied clockwise to male threads, it creates a watertight and airtight seal by filling gaps, lubricating the threads for tighter, easier fitting, and preventing corrosion.
